This project is a radiant snowmelt system to reduce maintenance on the roof/patio area above Ladd Library, and utilize excess heat from their steam plant. Custom headers were made to fit under cement benches, and about 2 miles of pex pipe were laid under the pavers to warm the patio for snowmelt.
The completed building has 250 rooms, each of which has a kitchenette, shower, water-closet and lavatory. Damon Mechanical completed the HVAC systems including heating, AC, and all plumbing. A central laundry room, domestic hot water, and ventilation systems were also a part of this projects. Additionally, each room was heated and cooled by a natural gas fired PTAC system.
