Boy Scouts, Banknorth officials, Cianbro and other members of the business community broke ground Monday, July 19, 2004 on the 21,000-square-foot Scout Center.
131 Johnson Road, Portland, ME 04102
The new Alton E. Cianchette Boy Scout Service Center is a unique building in both construction style and contractor involvement. The building is LEED Certified (Green Construction). It is a two-story plus basement building with retail, meeting, and administration spaces that will replace the older and much smaller space the BSA now occupies.Four mechanical contractors are working on different aspects of the project. All of the contractors are donating material and labor to help the BSA meet a tough budget. DMS is performing the plumbing portion of the building.
